ABOUT BRITT

Political Thriller Washington, DC

Britt Alan’s interest in and concern about world politics started early when, as an eight-year-old child, he wrote the Islamic Republic of Iran to protest the Iran hostage crisis. The response sent to him by the Islamic Republic’s charge d’affaires, which he includes in the preface to his novel, introduced him to propaganda and years later inspired him to write this political thriller for Washington, DC: Tiananmen Ascending.

Britt was born into a naval family in Monterey, California, and like most military brats, spent his life bouncing around the country and world following his father’s assignments. Go Navy! As college approached, Britt was living in Okinawa, Japan and matriculated to Northwestern University. After four fun filled years in Chicago, he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, promptly took a left turn and began a career in marketing and communications, before transitioning to defense science and technology support at the Office of Naval Research.

Britt Alan has twenty-three years of experience in international relations, communications, the federal government and Department of Defense Science and Technology agencies and programs, and spent more than eighteen years supporting the development of tools and capabilities for America’s warfighters. As his support of veteran affiliated organizations implies, he is a steadfast supporter of the nation’s military. While supporting the Navy’s Science and Technology portfolio, he was fortunate enough to travel to Europe, the Far East and Australia, and have worked closely with foreign governments, universities and NGOs on furthering collaborative S&T. Those perspectives, and his international experiences, spurred his interest in international relations and politics, and inform his fictional works. He is active in the defense science and technology community and is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the Project Management Institute, the American Marketing Association, and the Association of Proposal Management Professionals.

Britt lives in Washington, DC, has been married to the same loving, beautiful, patient woman for nineteen years, and together they have two beautiful children. He is currently at work on his second novel Chinese aggression and deception in The Dragon Proxies series. He is also working on two children’s book projects and is editing an unpublished, 1940s-era detective noir work, originally written seventy-five years ago by his great-grandfather.
